The WORKSHOP

Three hours with you and your leadership team to see what's actually going on in your business.

I've done this hundreds of times. In three hours, I can usually show a team things about their own company that they've never been able to see clearly. Not because they're not smart. Because, as I wrote in my book in 2008, it's nearly impossible to read the label from inside the bottle.

WHAT THIS IS

WHAT HAPPENS IN THREE HOURS?

I look at your business through three lenses. Just three. Because in 37 years of doing this work, I've found that these three things explain almost everything about why a business thrives or struggles.

Financial Truth

Most business owners think they know their numbers. But what I usually find is that they're running on gut feel dressed up as data. The reports exist, but they're not telling the real story. The cash account knows the truth, but nobody's really listening to it.

In the workshop, I show you what your financials are actually saying. Where the money goes. Where it leaks. Where the stories you've been telling yourself don't match reality.

Marketing Clarity

Here's a test I run with almost every company: I ask the leadership team to explain the business in one sentence. They almost never agree with each other. Sometimes they can't do it at all.

When your own team can't articulate what you do and why it matters, everything downstream gets harder. Sales feels like pushing a boulder uphill. Growth hurts more than it should. Marketing campaigns come and go without moving the needle.

I help you find the clarity that makes everything else easier.

Perfect Delivery

Most companies deliver adequately and call it excellence. They're not bad at what they do. But they're not remarkable either. And "not bad" doesn't create the kind of word-of-mouth and client loyalty that compounds over time.

I walk through every touchpoint in your customer experience and show you where trust gets built and where it leaks away. It's usually not where you think.

HOW THE WORKSHOP WORKS

**Before we meet:**

- You send me three years of P&Ls

- You and your leadership team each complete a short assessment

- I review everything and come fully prepared

During our three hours:

- We start with what I've observed. This is usually the uncomfortable part.

- Then we work through each of the three practices together

- We end by building a 90-day focus plan. Three things. Not thirty.

After we're done:

- You have clarity on what's actually broken

- You know where to focus

- You have permission to stop doing everything else

WHO THIS IS FOR

Business owners who have a nagging sense that something's off. Revenue might be growing, but profit isn't following. The team is busy, but it doesn't feel productive. You've tried things, implemented systems, read the books. And still, the business feels heavier than it should.

This tends to work best for companies in the $5M-$50M range who have achieved real success but know they're capable of more. You're not in crisis. You're just stuck in a way that's hard to name.

If that sounds familiar, this might be exactly what you need.

A FEW HONEST CAVEATS

This isn't for everyone, and I want to be upfront about that.

If you're looking for validation that everything is fine, you won't get that from me. If you want another framework to add to the collection you've already accumulated, I'm not going to give you one. If you're hoping for a 200-slide deck and consultant theater, that's not how I work.

The workshop is two hours of honest conversation about where your business actually is. That requires a willingness to hear things you might not want to hear.

If you're ready for that, we'll get along great.

THE INVESTMENT

The workshop is $4,500 for three hours with you, me and your team.

I know that's a significant number. Here's how I think about it:

Most businesses I work with are losing at least that much every month through some combination of complexity that adds no value, clients they should have fired long ago, and systems that work against each other instead of together.

Three hours to see what's actually happening. Then 90 days to fix it. Then years of compounding returns from a business that finally makes sense.

That's the math I'd want you to consider.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID

"I've paid consultants six figures for less clarity than Howard gave us in a morning. We walked out and killed three 'strategic initiatives' the next day. Six months later, revenue was up 30%."

- Manufacturing CEO

"Howard showed us we were basically three different companies pretending to be one. That was hard to hear. But now we're one company with three times the focus."

- Tech Founder

"I wanted to argue with everything he said. I couldn't. The numbers didn't lie. Only the stories we'd been telling ourselves did."

- Services CEO

Some questions you probably have:

  • Then this isn't for you. The magic here is in the mutual aid. When you help someone else, you access your own clarity. You step outside your chaos. You remember what you're actually good at. The act of helping others is therapeutic for you, not just them.

  • They're not. I've worked with 100+ businesses over 37 years. The problems feel unique to you, but the patterns repeat. The Brickyard principles apply to all of them. And even if your specific challenge is new to me, someone in the group has probably faced something similar.

  • You don't. But I do. There's an application process, 4 questions, and a 20-minute conversation before anyone joins. I'm selecting for chemistry, generosity, readiness, and commitment. Not just "can they pay."

  • The revenue range is a proxy for "established business with real operational complexity." If you're at $2M but dealing with the same chaos, you might still be a fit. Apply and let's talk.

  • Also fine. The work is about applying the principles, not revenue size. If you're at $100M and everything fights itself, the Brickyard principles still apply.

  • Yes. The first cohort is a 6-month commitment, but if it's working, we'll continue. Most people will probably want to keep going.

  • After 2-3 months in The Brickyard, if you recognize you need more intensive work, we can talk about my 90-day Clarity Intensive. $45K. The group becomes an entry point for deeper transformation. description

  • No. We start with 10 minutes of presence practice, meditation, sitting, because it works. It creates the space to see clearly instead of just reacting. But this isn't therapy. This is operational, practical, rolled-up-sleeves work on real business problems. With some depth about why you keep creating the same problems.

  • Life happens. But this only works if people actually show up. If you're going to miss more than 2 sessions in 6 months, this probably isn't the right time for you.

  • I screen for this. If there's a direct competitive overlap, I won't put you in the same cohort.
